Exhibition entrance, Wood Lane, 1949

The area is today occupied by the BBC multi-story car park

During its heyday - circa 1908

The entrance in 1949 - just before demolition

The ornate bridge carried pedestrians who had made their way from the Shepherd's Bush entrance.

Behind the entrance, the arches concealed the entrance to the original White City Station. The location is a few hundred yards down the track from the new Wood Lane station.

The original Wood Lane station was across the road from the entrance (under the ornate bridge).

More on these stations in future blogs.
